Tow Assist
Our 4-hour Tow Assist course will add this endorsement to your OUPV or Master's license, thus enabling you to charge a fee for assistance towing when appropriate. It is against USCG regulations to accept payment without having this endorsement.
Due to changes that started in 1984, downsizing of the USCG and the sheer volume of calls, the USCG now only responds to true emergency calls.
Other general aid requests are most often referred to any available local towing company or nearby "Good Samaritans".
